Whether you’re new to the area or you’ve lived here all of your life, Coeur d’Alene definitely has a market for drive-through coffee shops & amazing beverage sweet treats. Having lived here most of my life, I’ve gotten to know what I like where – & if you know anything about me, you should know that I am PICKY when it comes to my coffees, teas & snacks.
After several conversations with new residents, it sounds like there aren’t a lot of resources giving them the ins & outs of each shop. And while I’d love to simply have them go try them all, I’m also eager to share my resources. Here is the rundown of my top 8 Coeur d’Alene coffee shops & non-alcoholic beverages. Don’t worry, I’ll be sure to cover the alcohol later!
In no particular order, here you have it!
Various Area Locations
You’ve GOT to hand it to Jitterz, with their very consistent product & variety of locations, it’s no wonder why I find myself there often… more often than I care to admit. They have a great selection of drink & food options, most of which I’d highly recommend, but there is one drink in particular that I haven’t been able to part ways with since being introduced to it. Pink Lemonade Zipfizz, with strawberry, vanilla & cream. No joke, you guys, I’ve been drinking this exact drink for well over NINE YEARS now. What can I say, I’m a creature of habit. I’d also recommend their Erin Baker breakfast cookies, though I know they often cannot keep them in stock! Cheers Jitterz! I’ll see you tomorrow. 🙂
THE WELLNESS BAR
Various Area Locations
I know, I know… not technically a coffee shop, but the DO have coffee, & if you haven’t been there, you’re SERIOUSLY missing out. Not only is this one of my several addictions, it’s also usually the more healthy option. They serve a variety of juices, smoothies, & my favorite – the Bomb.com acai bowl. Get yourself a little extra almond butter, & baby you are on cloud nine!!! I’d also highly recommend their chocolate chunk smoothie, their protein balls & the Coeur d’Alene Athlete juice. Yuuuuuum!
GREAT ESCAPE ESPRESSO
If you’re driving through Hayden, I HIGHLY recommend visiting Great Escape. I go out of my way to visit them if I’m in the mood for an energy boost. This often involves a light beverage, sometimes even a water & one of their sugar cookies. But let’s be seriously honest here – I go there for the girls! The energy at this stand is very friendly, light-hearted & they are always willing to give you options when you pull up saying, “I don’t know what I want, but I need it to be…” This goes without saying that they are always quick to help anyone in need. You’ll often find them supporting a local non-profit.
TERRE COFFEE & BAKERY
Various Area Locations
Terre is highly rated, & there’s no question why. Not only is their atmosphere perfect for working & meeting up with friends, they’ve also got a wide variety of drink & bakery food options. Maybe it’s a comfort or a tradition, but my go-to drinks here are the London Fog & the Clari-Tea with vanilla. Not going to lie, their cinnamon rolls & chocolate, chocolate chip scones are both to die for & incredibly dangerous. Once you have one, you pretty much have to get one every time.
Coeur d’Alene, 2 Locations
You guys, I tried to avoid a new addiction, I really did! I even made the excuse that I wasn’t interested because they don’t have Zipfizz, & that I already had so many Coeur d’Alene coffee favorites. You can blame this one on my business coach Cassidy Bones, because now just about all I can think about is our long meet-ups there where I’m learning a TON, sipping on a hibiscus tea or hibiscus tea spritzer & eating one of their waffles. Definitely a must experience to anyone & everyone. Great, very clean minimalistic atmosphere too. I love the hiding spot in the back of their North Coeur d’Alene location! (Shhhh…)
GOLDEN GLO ESPRESSO
4th Street, Coeur d’Alene
Golden Glo has been a long time favorite, but recently I’ve been loving them even more. Safe Start/ NISSA, an amazing non-profit that I visit often is just down the street & I get my hair done just about a mile or so away at Salon208. The more pregnant I get, the more I stop at Golden Glo for their breakfast sandwiches. Ok, ok I also often get a drink – like a blended mocha without the coffee (yes, this is a thing!), but I think many of you know that third trimester means food wins out every time. Get yourself a breakfast bagel with bacon & you will completely understand my life right now.
32 BELOW FROZEN YOGURT
North Coeur d’Alene
This one is a hidden gem in my eyes, because so many people have no idea all that they have to offer! I found out I was pregnant before I could purchase one of their boosy floats, but you know I would if I could. For right now, I’m all about their quesadillas & grab-n-go salads, but I’ve also been known to get an Oreo shake. Life doesn’t get much better than having serious options at a froyo bar, it just doesn’t.
Downtown Coeur d’Alene
It’s been quite some time since I was introduced to the atmosphere at Fine Brewed. I love having options; between coffee, Zipfizz & (if you’ve read through the post so far) FOOD, this place is another great one to meet & catch up with someone. Their breakfast options are filling & I just feel a little more trendy when I go here. They offer acai bowls, juices, bagels, burritos, etc. – as well as options for nightlife including beer & wine. (Who am I kidding, I cannot leave out the mimosas!) My favorites are the Runner’s Breakfast & the House Club.
To sum things up, I think it’s safe to say that we have some serious Coeur d’Alene coffee beverage options! While I haven’t been everywhere, I certainly hope that you get out there & try at least a few of these options. Let me know what you think in the comments below!
